Virginia Division CofC members attended Virginia Division UDC's annual convention October 5-7 in Woodstock, Va.

Division President and Historian General Miss Beth Huffer brought greetings to Virginia Daughters from her Division and from the General Organization on Historical Evening and later presented two Robert E. Lee awards -- one on behalf of Tom Telegraph Chapter to Ex-Chapter Director Mrs. Charles Huffer and another on behalf of Virginia Division CofC to Ex-Division Director Mrs. David S. Whitacre, Virginia Division UDC President.

Division Recording Secretary Miss Brooke Myers and Division Custodian Miss Jenna Swanson were also in attendance on Historical Evening and served as personal pages to Mrs. Whitacre, along with Ex-Virginia Division CofC President Miss Brianne King and Ex-CofC President General Miss Kate Whitacre.

Earlier that day, at the convention's first business session, Division Treasurer Miss Crystal Brown presented Mrs. Whitacre with a check for $150 collected from Division members to assist the victims of the September 11 tragedy. The Division will be contributing a similar amount to the CofC General Organization for disaster relief efforts. Division officers also sent items such as contact lens solution, sunscreen, and pain relievers to New York Division President Mrs. Gregory Hoch for distribution to the search and recovery workers in New York City.

Division members were joined by Bylaws Chairman Mr. Kit Willis for Chapter Presidents' Evening on Saturday. In addition to assisting with banquet room setup and table decoration, they also helped hand out door prizes, as did Division Honorary Associate Member Mr. John Lougheed and Antonia Ford Chapter Honorary Associate Member Mr. Don Boltz.

On Sunday, before the convention adjouned, they were privileged to join the ladies of Fredericksburg Chapter in presenting a bouquet of red roses to newly elected Virginia Division UDC President Mrs. John W. Lougheed. Ex-Virginia Division CofC President Miss Katie Fraser, now a member of Mary Custis Lee-17th Virginia Regiment UDC Chapter, assisted in the presentation.
