"Side by side slumber many who fell in the Battle of Monocacy and at Antietam during the War Between the States. They were buried with their Confederate comrades right after the battle. They remained in those graves unmarked and unknown until about 1880 when the Frederick Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy employed a party of men to transfer them to a mass grave in Mount Olivet Cemetery." -- From the program

Monica Y. Choi was this year's recipient of the Capt. Sally Tompkins Award Virginia Division Vice President Dolores Smith, Division President Mrs. John W. Lougheed, Dr. Cynthia H. Tyson (President of Mary Baldwin College), and General Mike Bissell (Commandant of the College). Cadet Choi was attending Air Assault School in New York at the time the award was presented and was unable to be present.
